Sukkah in the Sky is held each fall during one of the intermediary days of the Jewish harvest festival. During this holiday, it is customary for Jews to build a temporary shelter and invite family and friends to join them for a meal inside this fragile booth called a sukkah.
It is in this tradition that the NYBR Sukkah in the Sky brings the community together to share our common spiritual rootage. In 2016, we honored NYPD Commissioner James O'Neill and Ambassador Dani Dayan, Consul General of Israel in New York.
